Most of the exhibits were being refurbished. Not much to see although the weapons exhibit was nice.
Excellent. The story of the New Market battle is both tragic and fascinating. If you appreciate civil war history, please go see this site. Walk the path of the battle and read about each step along the way. 20 cadets from VMI were killed in this battle. The current cadets re-enact the battle each year. The Bushong farmhouse and property where the battle took place remain intact.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Enjoyed the visit!
Bushong farm was great and very approachable although entrances and explanations not marked. Museum itself is really mediocre. Confusing construction of main exhibit room with wall of VMI info and center panels of random info. Not much of a gun person but collection was very interesting and advances in technology well catalogued.
